Model Solar Zoning Ordinance

Model OrdinanceThis Model Solar Ordinance for Utah communities is based on national and regional best practices for solar. The ordinance aims to promote the accommodation of distributed, on-site residential and non-residential solar energy systems installed to reduce on-site energy consumption; this ordinance does not address utility-scale solar energy systems, intended for the sale of electricity to utilities, industries, and/or businesses. This model ordinance is intended to serve as a tool and guide as Utah's cities and towns consider the adoption of their own local ordinance for solar.
